This round palm leaf mat is a Cosydar creation handcrafted by our artisans following our designs. Flat-woven by hand, each piece bears the marks of artisanal craftsmanship: regular spiral patterns, subtle variations in shade, and slight irregularities that give it character. The round shape, rarer than rectangular, brings a natural softness to any room.

PALM LEAF, A NOBLE MEDITERRANEAN FIBER

Date palm and dwarf palm (Chamaerops humilis) have been worked for millennia in the Mediterranean basin. The leaves, dried and then split into strips, produce a light fiber with a golden hue and a characteristic texture: both flexible and structured. Flat-woven using the spiral technique, it creates round pieces of natural elegance that develop a slight patina over time while maintaining their luster. This weaving technique is one of the most traditional in Berber and Mediterranean craftsmanship.

THREE DIAMETERS FOR THREE USES

This round mat is available in three sizes to suit every room and every use:

- Ø 100 cm: ideal as a decorative accent, at the foot of a bed, in an entryway, or under a small coffee table
- Ø 120 cm: intermediate size, perfect for a reading nook, under a dining table for 4 people, or as a striking wall piece
- Ø 150 cm: generous size, to anchor a living room, create a distinct living area

WHY IT IS UNIQUE

Like any hand-woven piece, this mat is unique. The exact dimensions, subtle variations in shade, and details of the spiral weave differ slightly from one piece to another. This is precisely what makes it an object of character, and not a standardized product.

HOW TO INTEGRATE IT INTO YOUR INTERIOR

On the floor: the round shape breaks up the straight lines of an interior and softens a room. Particularly beautiful under a round table, in an entryway to create a welcoming point, or at the foot of a bed for a cozy effect.

In composition: the round mat interacts particularly well with straight and organic shapes - raw wooden furniture, a linen sofa, a mirror with a round frame, woven baskets. It is this contrast between round shapes and natural materials that creates the warmest interiors.

CARE

Dust regularly with a soft cloth or a low-power vacuum cleaner. In case of a stain, dab with a slightly damp cloth and dry immediately flat. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct humidity and intense light, which could fade the fiber. Palm leaf is a living material that can evolve slightly over time - this is precisely what makes it beautiful.
