About

Wood, the ultimate warm material

Wood is one of the materials that brings the most warmth and character to an interior. Raw, with visible grain, never quite identical from one piece to another – that's precisely what makes it so beautiful. At COSYDAR-DECO, we work with artisans who respect the material, its knots, its tones, its natural irregularities. Each wooden object in this collection is unique, handcrafted, and bears the visible signature of manual work.

Carefully selected wood species

This collection brings together decorative and utilitarian objects made from four wood species chosen for their character and their coherence with the Mediterranean spirit:

  • Walnut: warm and deep tones, distinct grain and visible veins, particularly appreciated for kitchen items (cutting boards, utensils) and refined decorative elements where the contrast of the material makes all the beauty
  • Lemon wood: an emblematic species of the Mediterranean basin, with a golden to cream hue, and a fine, dense grain. It is a noble wood, uncommon in contemporary decoration, that brings a true Mediterranean signature to the pieces made from it
  • Eucalyptus: light wood with natural veins, durable and lightweight, ideal for occasional furniture, everyday objects, and storage pieces that need to combine robustness and discreet elegance
  • Laurel: a noble wood species worked by our artisans, with light and warm tones, and a fine grain. Uncommon in contemporary decoration, it is a typical material of traditional Mediterranean craftsmanship, handcrafted for unique pieces

All our pieces are crafted with respect for the wood, without heavy varnish or excessive chemical treatment. The wood remains alive, capable of developing a patina, improving with age, and telling a story over time.

What can you find in this collection?

This selection covers all uses of wood in decoration and daily life:

  • For the kitchen: walnut cutting boards, trivets, wooden dish racks, handcrafted utensils
  • For storage: magazine racks, decorative crates, raw wood trays
  • For wall and floor decoration: decorative ladders to lean against a wall for hanging throws and towels, wooden shelves, frames
  • For window dressing: handmade solid wood curtain rods, available in several lengths, from 60 to 240 cm
  • For occasional furniture: small furniture pieces, stools, display stands
  • For accessories: wooden vases, decorative objects

Why choose handcrafted wooden objects?

Buying handcrafted wood means choosing pieces that last. Where industrial furniture wears out in a few years, well-crafted wood improves with time. An oiled walnut board develops a patina. A raw eucalyptus ladder develops its own tones over the years. It's an investment in durability, not disposability.

It's also choosing pieces that have a story. Each object in this collection has been handcrafted in workshops where wood is worked with patience and expertise. You're not bringing home a standardized product – you're bringing home an artisan's work.

How to incorporate wood into your decor?

Wood naturally pairs with all other natural materials: woven fibers, wrought iron, linen, ceramics, terracotta. It is precisely this blend of materials – wood + fibers + metal – that creates the warmest and most authentic interiors.

Here are a few ideas to get started:

  • A walnut cutting board placed vertically on the countertop instantly adds character to a kitchen
  • A decorative wooden ladder against a bathroom wall for hanging towels and throws
  • A raw wood tray on the coffee table to gather candles, books, and everyday objects

The idea is never to match, but rather to let the materials communicate with each other. Authenticity is born from this mix.

Mediterranean craftsmanship since 2014

Since 2014, COSYDAR-DECO has been working with a network of artisans in the Mediterranean. Each piece in this collection is made using traditional techniques, by hands that know their material. This is what gives our wooden objects their soul, their uniqueness, and their lasting value.
